LightBox Africa is currently seeking a talented Marketing & Business Development Executive whose primary role will be in Business Development to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth by ensuring increased sales & sustained client relations.

You will be tasked with building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals. You will be expected to maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

New Business Development

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business by networking, cold calling, advertising or any other means of generating interest.
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Plan approaches and pitches. * Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. o Strategic planning by ensuring an active marketing plan is in place.

Client Retention

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management and Research

  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a supplier list) are fulfilled within a timely manner. o Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to internal staff, inspiring everyone to market the Company.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continue to enhance the company’s performance.

Communication & Brand visibility

  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continue to enhance the company’s performance.
  • Develop content for promotional materials including direct mail pieces, print and electronic. newsletters, web site and social media stories, media releases, and other materials as needed.
  • Plan and implement communications plans as required.

Competencies and Attributes Required

  • Ability to plan and implement communications plans as required.
  • A target orientated disposition and the desire to sell and meet targets.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
  • The ability to persuade and convince people of the merits of a product or service.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Drive, determination, persistence and tenacity.
  • Have a grasp of the film & media production industry.
  • Strategic and creative planning.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with I can do attitude.

Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Business Degree with a focus on Marketing & Communication.
  • Diploma in CIM an added advantage.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in Marketing, Business Development & Communication. Preferably in a Media production company.

Job Purpose Summary: Your role will be to market & sell our products and services to clients

  • To develop new leads, cold call potential clients, manage existing customer relationships and close the deal, either over the telephone or in person, with the aim of maximizing sales revenues, increasing the client portfolio and hitting targets
  • To profile the team members and coordinate their participation in events where there is potential to network with industry leaders and get jobs

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with production team in building powerful visual identity and promoting company products
  • Ensuring effective flow of information on products to clients.
  1. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – (CONTENT DISTRIBUTION)
  • Developing, polishing, engineering and revising new products
  • Participate in identifying suitable products/services for target customers
  • Steer product development initiatives in liaison with other departments to meet the market demands
  • Responsible for developing licensing deals with 3rd party distribution channels
