PAWA254, is Kenya’s unique art and cultural collaborative hub and a community of creatives driven
by the firm belief that art is a powerful tool for social change. Our community supports a wide range
of creative industries including photography, graffiti, spoken word, creative writing, writivism,
innovative journalism, dance, digital art. We embrace collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurial
spirit and social change in Kenya and beyond.

We’ve grown rapidly since opening our doors in 2011 and have cut a niche in the sector as a bold
‘ARTIVISM’ organization that creatively integrates art and activism to promote active civic
participation and enhancement of youth economic development opportunities.

Making sure that both members and prospective members have consistently excellent
experiences at PAWA.
Fostering a strong sense of connectedness and belonging within our community
Ensuring members and visitors are introduced and connected to a range of opportunities
upon their membership at the hub.

Creating and implementing programs and activities that catalyze the growth of the
creative community

Events Organization & Coordination

Work with the PAWA team to organize events to attract new members and help members
learn, grow and connect with each other.
Organize and promote PAWAful events to increase member’s engagement such as
community lunches, supper and speaker’s series .

Liaise with space booking clients to ensure that the space is set up and ready to go for their
Space Maintenance and Infrastructural Support

Oversee the community space and work with team members to ensure
that infrastructure (Wi-Fi, printer, phone lines, projectors, etc.) is well serviced and
troubleshoot when needed
Coordinate with team members to ensure that supplies in the community space are
sufficiently stocked.

Partnerships, Collaborations and Fundraising.
Work with PAWA’s management team to initiate how PAWA’s partners and collaborators can
plug into our programs and projects.
Nurture relationships outside of the PAWA community that would be beneficial to our
creative community. This could include similar hubs across the world, investors,
governments and social innovators, amongst others

Communications & Outreach

Working closely with the Communications team to promote our members’ activities, events
and relevant & inspiring content through our social media platforms and publications.
Represent PAWA254 at various functions that align with our mission and values.
Conduct research on global and local trends in the creative world and ensure that the
PAWA254 community is kept abreast


  • Participate in special projects related to PAWA management, operations and governance.
  • The ideal candidate will be someone who:
  • Is an arts enthusiast who has a clear appreciation and understanding of the role of the arts in social change.
  • Has proven experience in organizing events, building communities and supporting and/or
  • managing operations.
  • Has strong networks within the diverse creative community and is positive, supportive and
  • genuinely passionate about creative community-building and innovation.
  • Posses great interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service ethics.
  • A natural organizer, with ability to liaise seamlessly, facilitate and follow through on assignments.
  • Is comfortable and effective at working autonomously, and with a team.
  • Has proven experience and passion in social media and ICT.
  • s willing to take on a challenge or jump-in to help out in various departments whenever needed.
  • Is very organized, process-oriented and open-minded.
  • Is a creative problem solver and has a genuine curiosity.

them professionally and socially. You have an enduring entrepreneurial spirit, are ambitious
and creative, and are excited about the idea of building something meaningful. You are self-
motivated and don’t need others to hold you accountable. You have a knack for juggling
competing priorities and require minimal oversight to see a project through to the end.
