Deadline in two weeks!
This two-phase exchange program, starting in Kenya, will bring a group of four young journalists from selected news organizations to the United States for a four-week program. They will first attend an orientation in Washington, D.C., and then spend the remaining time working out of U.S. newsrooms.
The program will provide participating journalists with the necessary skills to do enterprise news reporting of relevant social issues, as well as how to use the latest digital tools for their work. Through their time working with U.S. journalists, the visiting journalists will gain valuable insight into the American media and will build long-lasting ties with their American colleagues.
After this first phase, three U.S. leading journalists will then visit Kenya to build on the mentoring relationship with the participating African journalists that started in the U.S. phase of the program. The American journalists will hold a series of conferences and small meetings at news organizations and journalism schools in Kenya.
